Take
a clay/sand mix, a cup with a small hole in the bottom, a huge green
basin, water, and 40 minutes and look what you get!
Mr. Lee's
6th grade science students are learning about erosion, sediments, and
how landforms are created. Reading about the Grand Canyon and the Hudson
River added a Social Studies element to the project.
Mr. Lee
says "I think I've figured out the secret of teaching: keeping
things simple, observant, and where the kids can touch and mix are
part of that core of teaching...I can't wait to see what their end-of-unit
projects about landforms will be about!" |
